STYLING, COSTUMING, AUTHOR…
Carmia is a stylist, educator, upcyclist, sustainable fashion savant, TV/film costumer, and storyteller who blends high style with mindful living. A proud Howard University graduate (cum laude, B.A. in Communications), she’s built a multifaceted career spanning television, film, fashion design, personal styling, and wellness—all rooted in creativity, care, and cultural awareness.
Her work on productions like Ocean’s 8, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Noah, and Sex and the City 2 reflects her meticulous attention to clothing and character. Whether star dressing or supporting the wardrobe team, Carmia ensures actors are cared for and camera-ready, no matter how rigorous the shoot schedule.
As co-author of three eco-forward fashion books—T-Shirt Makeovers, Denim Mania, and Chic Sweats—she was ahead of the upcycling curve, proving that style can be expressive and sustainable.
To Carmia, getting dressed is an act of healing, communication, and self-awakening. She brings this philosophy to everything she touches—from private clients and creative collaborations to offerings under Sunflowers and Lavender, her sanctuary for style, wellness, and intentional living.
Adrienne Ingrum represents Camia at Serendipity Literary Agency. She is also Co-Founder/ Board Member of CreativeTypes, a career development platform focused on opportunities and community building for underrepresented groups globally.
Carmia lives in Brooklyn with her husband, artist Josama. Together, they extend their creative lifestyle into hospitality through a thoughtfully curated farmhouse Airbnb in Upstate New York.
